Job Title: LAN Administrator
Department: Information Technology
City: New York, NY
Reports To: Security & Enterprise Systems Manager
Primary Functions:
Provides LAN/WAN, telecommunications systems hardware and software support for client, server and network by performing the following duties.
Provides end users support for all LAN-based applications.
Provides support for Wide Area Networking.
Provides support for MS Exchange, file and print servers and other applications servers.
Provides support for MS Windows Active Directory environment.
Provides support for Storage Area Networks (SAN).
Provides support for the local area network infrastructure.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five years of experience in Information Technology or a related field is required.
CompTIA A+ Certification preferred
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Certification preferred.
Familiarity with VBS scripting preferred.
Information Technology Infrastructure LIbrary (ITIL) Foundations Certification preferred.
Good communication and presentation skills required.
Responsibilities:
Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to LAN.
Installs and configures digital and IP telephone equipment.
Implements new applications and updates to clients and servers.
Recommends and schedules repairs.
Verifies network operations at the server and desktop levels.
Works with a service management suite to track incidents and problems.
Communicates effectively, gets along with coworkers and management, and deals with others effectively and professionally under pressure.
