Consumer Information

Gems and PearlsWhen making a fine jewelry purchase, insist on a Report from GIA — the world's foremost authority in gemology.

Consumers may send their diamonds, colored stones, or pearls to the GIA Gem Trade Laboratory for grading, identification, and inscription services through local retailers of fine jewelry. Retail jewelers are more familiar with the care and handling of diamonds and jewelry, are better equipped to facilitate service arrangements, and are uniquely qualified to advise you on the importance and interrelationship of features discussed in your GIA Report.

While the acquisition of a diamond is the ultimate symbol of love, it also represents a major investment in time, energy and money. You need and deserve to feel confident in your decision and in the integrity of what you've acquired.

With any GIA Report (including the
GIA Diamond Grading Report™ and the GIA Diamond Dossier®) you receive the jewelry industry's most respected impartial assessment of quality and authenticity. And that brings peace of mind.
