The GIA Museum won the "Honorable Mention" award in the 27th Annual American Association of Museums (AAM) Publications Design Competition for its "Happy Holidays" calendar that was the Institute's holiday greeting last year.

The calendar was created using 12 photos of jewelry and gemstones chosen from the "Celebrating Excellence in Gems and Jewelry" exhibit, a special collection of one-of-a-kind pieces the Museum brought together in conjunction with the 4th International Gemological Symposium.

The competition acknowledges excellence in graphic design and is the only national, juried event involving publications produced by museums of all kinds and sizes. This year's contest drew 1,040 entries from museums across the nation and, out of that, 104 entries were selected as winners.
