GIA Lab Speaker Tour Announced
Experts and researchers from the GIA Laboratory are available to speak at Alumni Association chapter meetings through 2009.

Presenters like Al Gilbertson, research associate; Donna Beaton, supervisor, Colored Stones; and Matthew Hall, manager of New York Identification Services, will discuss all the services provided by the Lab, as well as updates on one of the following educational and research topics:

• Beryllium in sapphire
• Tourmaline country-of-origin
• Lead glass filling of corundum
• Blue topaz
• Coatings
• Diamond and colored-diamond topics

The Georgia chapter hosted the first Lab speaker meeting with Hall on Nov. 12. "The presentation went well. We all enjoyed it, learned a little new info and had a little refresher course," said Ann Jeffres, chapter officer.
