Save the Date!
Accomplished professionals agree that networking is a major factor in their success, so don't miss your chance to mingle with some of the industry's key players at this year's GIA Alumni Association Networking Reception at the JCK show in Las Vegas.

Get the latest updates on the Association, meet the Alumni Executive Council, GIA staff, chapter officers and other graduates. This free reception is a great place for new chapter officers to meet long-time officers and get pointers for running a successful chapter.

When: Saturday, May 31, 5-6:30 p.m.
Where: Tao, 3rd level, in the Venetian Hotel

Earn While You Spend, Help the Alumni Association
The GIA Alumni Association has entered into a partnership with Bank of America and its new Affinity Credit Card Program, WorldPoints®, to give members an opportunity to earn points to use toward cash, unrestricted travel, hotel benefits, car rentals, merchandise and gift certificates. And each time you use your card a percentage of your expenditures will be added to the GIA Alumni Endowment Fund.

The mailing list, which is provided to a third-party mail facility, is specifically used for this Alumni Association program and will not be released to any other organization or for any Bank of America programs not related to the GIA Alumni Association program.

Go to www.newcardonline.com to sign up or call 1-800-932-2775 (TTY users, call 1-800-833-6262). Please mention priority code FACHEH.

Don't Forget to Rack Up Your Carat Points
The GIA Alumni Association created the Carat Point System of Recognition to reward you for the career-enhancing activities you participate in, like attending GIA alumni and professional events; becoming a chapter officer; reading and acknowledging select articles from Gems & Gemology, The Loupe: GIA World News, GIA Insider and successfully completing the G&G challenge.

And now it's easier than ever to submit your Carat Point activities for validation through the virtual Carat Card located on the GIA Web site. Use the comments section to describe a class or seminar you have taken and the second page of the online card to enter the actual issue date of a publication or event. The more information you provide, the quicker we can update your points.

Go to www.gia.edu/alumni. The Carat Point information is on the main page. Questions? E-mail alumni@gia.edu.
