Students Get In the Halloween Spirit

GIA students and staff took a break after class to get in the seasonal spirit at the annual Halloween party Oct. 29. More than 50 partygoers filled a large tent that was set up and decorated with dangling toy spiders, ghosts and bats as they participated in karaoke and did the Electric Slide to D.J. music.

Top prizes in the costume contest went to Andrew Stevens for his Star Wars Emperor’s Royal Guard uniform; Danielle Peterson for her “Hooter Girl” get-up, which comprised of two stuffed owls pinned to her shirt; and Michel Beyeler who created a “Swiss Ruby” costume made from cardboard. There was also a classroom-wide pumpkin carving contest. The winning jack-o-lantern, with a black cat perched on top, came from classroom 206, a Graduate Jeweler class taught by Instructors Mark Maxwell and Adam Kelley.
