Gemological Institute of America President William E Boyajian, GG, has appointed Linda Ellis Chief Development Officer for the Institute.

“I have great confidence that, working with Jane Lynch, director of institute relations, and with our entire Development team, Linda will take this very successful division to even greater heights,” said Boyajian.

He said Ellis will direct all GIA fundraising and institute advancement efforts, including the endowment campaign, and supervise the operational areas of Development, special events, Alumni, treasured gifts, and publications.

“I am honored to be working with a great team of dedicated professionals,” said Ellis. “I’m excited to work with the industry in building our endowment campaign, which will strengthen the industry by securing GIA’s financial future.”

Ellis has more than 14 years of experience in nonprofit management, development, fundraising, public relations and marketing. She served as the executive director of the nonprofit San Diego Blood Bank Foundation since 1992.
