Publisher, Jewelers' Circular Keystone International Publishing & Shows

"I believe it is important to support GIA because GIA is the only institution within the jewelry industry that is primarily focused on education and research. It is the single place a jeweler would go for technical information concerning gems and gemology. Since its inception, GIA has striven for excellence, professionalism and a leadership role in the industry. As consumers become more and more demanding of each gem and jewelry business to provide accurate information about what it sells, GIA's industry role will become more important with the passage of time."

Mr. Frank Dallahan first started in the jewelry industry in 1974 when he assumed the position of vice president of sales for ArtCarved Bridal Jewelry in New York.

During the course of the following 26 years, he has successfully managed a variety of different jewelry manufacturing businesses, including ArtCarved, Diamonique, William Schneider Jewelry, Kurt Gutmann and Krementz & Co.

JCK Magazine hired Dallahan in December 1997 as executive director of trade relations. JCK had experienced a significant managerial change with the departure of the publisher and various members of the JCK staff including all but two members of its sales organization. Rick Bay and George Holmes perceived the need for someone who was well connected with the retail and manufacturing communities to represent JCK in the marketplace. Dallahan was subsequently promoted to associate publisher in 1999 and in 2000 was appointed as publisher. He writes a monthly column for JCK titled, "Counterpoint," which deals with contemporary industry issues.

He has been a member of the JCK Show Advisory Board since its inception in 1991 and helped launch the JCK Las Vegas Show in 1992. He also has been an active supporter of the Anti-Defamation League and promotes its annual dinner.

Dallahan is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and lives in Bucks County Pennsylvania with his wife Kathleen. The Dallahans have three children. Their oldest son is employed in the jewelry industry as a sales executive with the Donald Bruce Company.
